Thousands without power in Dunn

An equipment failure at a substation in Harnett County has led to a massive power outage in the Dunn area. As of 5:30 a.m., Progress Energy says 4,800 customers are currently without power. The equipment failure was reported around 1:50 a.m. Monday. At the height of the outage, about 7,000 customers were without power in Dunn. Power is estimated to be restored around 6:30 a.m.
