Toronto Utilities got the green light to raise rates to cover $18 million in legal costs related to charging too much interest on late payments. The Ontario Energy Board says to deny them the right to recover the cash would be a detriment to shareholders - namely the cities where they operate. Ontario Power Generation has asked for a 6.2 percent rate hike as of march 1st.
